Read Low Brix Concentrations on a Finer 0.1% Scale

The Atago MASTER-20M Handheld Brix Refractometer is an optical refractometer designed specifically for lower-concentration samples. It measures from 0.0 to 20.0% Brix with a minimum scale of 0.1% Brix and manufacturer-specified accuracy of ±0.2% Brix.

Its handheld optical design requires no batteries or external power, making it a practical instrument for rapid Brix checks in production, quality control and field applications.

Optimised for Low-Concentration Samples

Rather than covering a very broad Brix range, the MASTER-20M concentrates its scale between 0.0 and 20.0% Brix. This provides a 0.1% scale for reading lower-concentration samples such as juices and other aqueous solutions.

0.1% Brix Minimum Scale

The optical scale is graduated in 0.1% Brix increments, with a manufacturer-specified measurement accuracy of ±0.2% Brix.

Ideal for Juice and Beverage Testing

ATAGO recommends the MASTER-20M for low-concentration samples such as fruit juices and other beverages. It can also be used for suitable industrial aqueous solutions such as cutting fluids where Brix refractometry is used for concentration checks.

Manual Temperature Compensation

The MASTER-20M does not feature Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC). Temperature compensation must therefore be managed manually when required. For applications where automatic temperature compensation is preferred, ATAGO offers the MASTER-20α series.

Battery-Free Optical Measurement

As a traditional optical Brix refractometer, the MASTER-20M requires no batteries, charging or external power supply. A sample is applied to the prism and the Brix value is read directly through the optical scale.

Durable Metal Body

The MASTER-20M uses a metal body. For salty or acidic samples, ATAGO recommends the plastic-body MASTER-20PM instead to provide better suitability for those sample types.

Compact for Production and Field Measurements

Measuring only 168 mm in length and weighing approximately 90 g, the refractometer is easy to carry between production areas, inspection points and field locations.
