Higher-Resolution pH Testing with a Replaceable Probe

The Apera PH5 Premium Pocket pH Meter combines 0.01 pH resolution, ±0.01 pH accuracy and a user-replaceable probe in a compact IP67 waterproof tester designed for routine and more demanding water quality measurements.

It measures from -2.00 to 16.00 pH and incorporates Automatic Temperature Compensation from 0°C to 50°C. A 3-colour backlit LCD provides clear visual indication for measurement, calibration and alarm conditions.

±0.01 pH Accuracy with 0.01 pH Resolution

The PH5 provides a wide -2.00 to 16.00 pH measurement range with 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.01 pH accuracy (±1 digit), making it suitable for applications requiring finer measurement than a basic 0.1 pH pocket tester.

User-Replaceable pH and Temperature Probe

The PH5 uses a replaceable pH/temperature probe. When the electrode reaches the end of its service life, the probe can be replaced without replacing the complete instrument.

The modular probe design also provides access to other compatible Apera Premium Series probes for specialised measurement applications.

Automatic 1 to 3-Point Calibration

The meter supports automatic pH calibration at up to three points with automatic recognition of standard calibration solutions. Both USA and NIST buffer series are supported, allowing calibration to be matched to the required measurement range.

Automatic Temperature Compensation

The integrated temperature sensor provides Automatic Temperature Compensation from 0°C to 50°C, allowing pH measurements to be compensated according to sample temperature.

Three-Colour Backlit LCD

The PH5 uses a colour-coded LCD to make operating status easier to identify. The display illuminates blue during measurement, green during calibration and red when an alarm condition is triggered.

Configurable pH Alarm Limits

User-adjustable upper and lower pH alarm limits can be configured for applications where measurements need to remain within a specified range. When a stable measurement falls outside the selected limits, the display changes to red to provide an immediate visual warning.

Automatic Reading Lock

An optional automatic lock function can hold the measurement once the reading has remained stable, allowing results to be reviewed or recorded without continuously watching the display.

IP67 Waterproof Protection

The tester has an IP67 waterproof rating, providing protection for routine measurements around water, tanks and other wet testing environments.

Optional ORP Measurement

The PH5 also supports ORP measurement from -1000 to +1000 mV when used with a compatible Apera ORP probe. The ORP probe is sold separately and is not part of the standard PH5 kit.

Up to 2,000 Hours of Battery Operation

Four AAA alkaline batteries provide up to 2,000 hours of operation under the manufacturer’s specified conditions. A low-voltage warning indicates when battery replacement is required, while automatic power-off after eight minutes of inactivity helps conserve battery power.
