Measure pH Directly Where Your Plants Are Growing
The Hanna HI981030 GroLine Soil pH Tester is designed specifically for direct pH measurement in soil and soil slurries. Instead of using a conventional general-purpose pH electrode, the HI981030 incorporates a specialised built-in soil probe with a conical glass tip, open reference junction and removable sleeve.
It measures from 0.00 to 12.00 pH with 0.01 pH resolution and ±0.05 pH accuracy at 25°C, making it a practical tool for agriculture, horticulture, greenhouses, gardens and environmental soil testing.
Designed Specifically for Direct Soil pH Testing
The HI981030 is built for measurements directly in soil and soil slurries. Its specialised electrode design allows growers and technicians to check pH at the growing medium rather than relying on a conventional general-purpose water pH tester.
Conical Glass Tip for Easier Soil Penetration
A conical glass sensing tip helps the probe penetrate soil and soil slurries. This shape is particularly useful when taking measurements at multiple locations across a growing area.
Open Junction Helps Prevent Clogging
The open reference junction is designed for samples containing suspended solids such as soil. Unlike a conventional ceramic junction that can become clogged by soil particles, the open junction provides an open gel interface between the sample and the internal reference system.
Removable Sleeve for Cleaning and Maintenance
The electrode sleeve can be removed to clean the junction and replenish the reference electrolyte. This is particularly useful for soil testing, where particles and organic material can accumulate around the sensing area during repeated measurements.
0.01 pH Resolution
The tester measures across a 0.00 to 12.00 pH range with 0.01 pH resolution and a specified accuracy of ±0.05 pH at 25°C.
Automatic Temperature Compensation
Automatic Temperature Compensation operates from 0°C to 50°C, allowing pH measurements to be automatically compensated according to measurement temperature.
Automatic One or Two-Point Calibration
The HI981030 supports automatic one or two-point calibration, simplifying routine preparation of the tester before soil measurements.
Stability Indicator Helps You Know When to Record the Reading
An on-screen stability indicator helps identify when the pH reading has stabilised, reducing the need to judge measurement stability manually.
Soil Auger Included for Consistent Sampling
A HI721319 soil auger is included with the tester. It can be used to prepare a measurement hole before inserting the electrode, helping reduce the risk of forcing the glass sensing tip into hard or compacted ground.
PVDF Probe Body for Agricultural Environments
The probe body is manufactured from PVDF, a material selected for its chemical resistance, mechanical strength and resistance to many commonly used disinfecting chemicals.
Designed for Growers and Soil Testing
The HI981030 is particularly suited to growers who need to monitor soil pH before planting, during crop development or when adjusting soil conditions. Measurements can be taken at multiple locations to build a better picture of pH variation across the growing area.
